Overpriced, use a table and creative borders
Wow, when i opened this box with my nephew I was shocked at what I paid full price for - plastic black ridged boards with 4 red plastic strips that act as bumper guards. That’s it. That’s all you get. It’s nice to have a playing arena but this is overpriced. The whole Bakugan merchandising line has gotten out of hand, from the $20 Bakutins to the overpriced launcher. The game itself is fun, however.

READ BETWEEN THE LINES!!!!
This is a nice accessory to go with the gaming pieces, but read the description carefully! While it really doesn’t say that certain items are included, both the text and photo imply that they are. Thirty bucks plus shipping is a lot to pay for an empty arena. My grandson and I were both very disappointed. He’ll get over it but I won’t because it was my money.

Playtime more thrilling
With this the play time with the Bakugans will be alot more entertaining.
Friends will enjoy it alot more.

Megasized Bakugan
This is a supersized Bakugan figure when compared to the original line of Bakugan figures. Even the second generation Bakugan B2 figures shy in comparison by the sheer size. The unit is solid in construction and more durable than the smaller counterparts. Rolling this figure on the Battle Arena is a little awkward given the sheer size (palm roll) and landing onto the metallic gate card is more challenging. No other Bakugan will be able to land onto a card (at least if it is centered), if this monstrosity is on the card.

Since these figures are harder to find than the ’slightly less than impossible’ to find Bakugan figures, your child will be considered very lucky to have one of these. Since we only have one, it is hard to say what the Power Levels will range for this product. It is about the size of a 5 year old’s fist so fitting into a pocket would be cumbersome and impractical. It will not fit into any conventional Bakugan case, either.

These retail for about [...] depending upon the retail store. Aftermarket sales run [...], if you are willing to buy one. I am constantly looking for these in the retail stores but it will have to wait until after Christmas.

VERDICT

Highly recommend adding one of these to your collection.

Son loves it
My son discovered Bakugans through another child in the neighborhood and now we are part of the frenzied parents trying to get our hands on just a few. He really likes this one because of the size and I like it better because I think it is less likely to get lost like the small ones. It is a neat concept, the toy is magnetic and when it touches metal or the metal card that comes with it, it opens up into a creature.

Solid toy
Our grand kids really abused this toy and it came back for more. It was a lot of fun for them to see it open.

These are awesome toys for little boys (my son is 8). The only thing is, these are really expensive. You can find this same pack for $10 in stores. I bought them here because I couldn’t find them, but they seem to be readily available in stores for Christmas.

I am not sure about this toy, however, my son and his friends thinks they are great. I do like the magnetic mechanism which causes the figure to morph from a cynlinder into a creature…thats pretty cool. The only issue I have is with different dealers charging different prices for the same object. The company I used in conjuction with Amazon, seems to be the most fair …and resonably priced (even lower than the major chains like ToysRus and Etoys).

My recommendation is…if you by Bakugan action figures, please forge ahead and purchase the holder as well. Its compact and can be dismantled to carry certain figures in a holder. Trust its better than finding yourself hurt due to one on the floor. … Like I told my son, he is NOT getting the insurance money now! smile

Popular Toy
My daughter is in 4th grade and this is “the most popular” item around. The kids trade them at school. Some of them look pretty interesting on how the open. They open when you place them on metal or on the magnetic card. I wouldn’t call them very educational, although the kids do pay attention to how powerful the numbers are on them and they learn some basic engineering when unfolding them into the character.

Conkers for the younger set
I had never heard of Bakugan before I asked a friend what to give her six-year old son for his birthday. Then I did research and still didn’t understand what Bakugan is. Anyway, the boy was ecstatic when he opened the present. He played with the pieces for a bit and then tried to explain to me how to play. I still don’t really have a clue but he was so excited and intent on his own interpretive play that I have to give it a thumbs up. I remember gifts that excited me and any gift that can transport a child like that is definitely going on the ‘must repeat’ list. Plus, his mother understands the game and approves, which beats the petanque set I mistakenly gave last year.

If you want Bakugan get the Series 1 or 2. . .
I ordered these thinking I was getting the original starter packs but then B2s showed up in the mail. I was excited because I hadn’t seen them before & I knew my son didn’t have any of them. Then we opened the package & they are sooooooo cheaply made it’s ridiculous. It’s as with any toy from China that is in demand, they knew it was a hot item & went cheap on us making it so we’d have to get more. If your child is into Bakugan go on ebay & look up the Series 1 or 2 regular small marbles. They aren’t that expensive at the time of writing this because the majority of people want the high number Gs which the B2s do have. But my son is 5 1/2 & could care less about the Gs. Yes, he knows what they are & we play the game but he cares more about the character marble he has & which one goes according to the cartoon at the time. I have gotten every character off of ebay. .. Christmas is coming. . .and I have not been disappointed in ONE of the series 1 or 2 marbles. They are awesome. So, just find out which ones your child wants look them up & order from there. My son has been playing non-stop with the series 1 & 2 marbles since September(learned about this on the school bus) & they still open & shut awesomely. Got the B2s about a month and a half ago & they don’t open all the way or their legs are loose. Skyress is an absolute pain in the tush to close. CRAP! So, good luck I know we get what we can for our kids & this is a good price right now compared to ebay ($18 at time of writing this). Just had to send this out so you’d know what I learned!

awesome value for a great toy!
I purchased this starter pack for my 10 year old son for Christmas who recently became very into Bakugan with his friends. This was the best value I have found and even though you don’t know which one’s you are getting, I think most kids would like the surprise and it makes a great gift!! The figures are very cool, opening only on magnetic surfaces and tucking away into balls or “marbles” used in the game. They are pretty durable, but my son has broken one which he managed to “trade” with a friend to get another one. Apparently even broken they still have value ! These are definitely hot right now and hard to find in stores. I recommend this product and especially this starter pack…it’s sure to please any young boy on your christmas list!
